Ancient rumour has it that the combination of essential oils used in this soap warded off the Bubonic plague for four criminals who were robbing the dead and dying. The herbs, however, were infused in vinegar and originated in either Marseille or Toulouse anywhere between the 14th and 18th century depending on who is telling the story... the most plausible reason was the combination likely repelled fleas (the carriers of the plague).
While this blend of oils will definitely not ward off the plague (or any other virus), if it covered the smell of the dead from those criminals because of the potential to kill bacteria, imagine what it will do for a living person! Hence the name, The Honest Bandit. ;)
